Gary Webb

Chief Executive Officer

Gary was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2004. Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer Gary was the Corporation's General Manager Operations.

Gary is responsible to the Board for the day to day management of the Corporation and providing advice on its strategic direction.

Gary is responsible for delivering the Corporation's Business Plan which identifies the core elements such as:

• safety;
• sustainability of our business and the port;
• growing trade;
• fostering competition;
• improving productivity and efficiency; and
• delivering opportunity for the Hunter Region.

Tim Turner

Harbour Master

Tim was appointed Harbour Master for the Port of Newcastle in October 2000.

Tim exercises the functions of the Harbour Master under the Ports Corporatisation and Waterways Management Act and other marine legislation. Tim is responsible for the safe navigation and accommodation of all shipping in the port. Tim manages the pilotage service and is responsible for the training of Corporation's marine pilots.

Mike Baudinette

General Manager Trade & Port Development

Mike was appointed in June 2008

Mike has resonsiblity for business and trade development, customer relations, service pricing strategies, trade forecasting and property portfolio management and development.

Mike is also responsible for major project development and implementation of capital works

Mike will play a crucial role in attracting a suitable proponent for the operation and development of the Mayfield site.

Ron Sorensen

General Manager - Operations

Ron was appointed General Manager Operations in 2007.

Ron is responsible for ensuring the Corporation provides safe, efficient and effective pilotage and navigational services in accordance with the requirements of the Corporation's Port Safety Operating Licence. Ron is responsible for the maintenance of the Corporation's channel through the survey section ,operation of the dredger and maintenance of port assets.

Ron co-ordinates the Corporation's Occupational Health & Safety System. Ron is also responsible for the Corporation's vessel maintenance, environmental management responsibilities, port security and incident control system.

David Callaghan

General Manager Finance and Corporate Services

David was appointed General Manager Finance & Corporate Services in 2003.

David manages the Corporation's finance and accounting services, purchasing, information management and administrative support. David also co-ordinates the Corporation's risk management system and business continuity planning..

Michael Dowzer

General Manager Strategy ,Efficiency  & Governance

Michael was appointed Secretary & General Counsel in 2004.

Following a restructure Michael  is now responsible for strategic planning , government relations and policy,supply and logistics chain analysis and property management for coal leases. Michael is also responsible for providing internal legal advice and coordinating the Corporation's external legal advice as well as preparation of the Corporation's Business Plan and Statement of Corporate Intent
